We enjoyed another hugely successful MJ Achievement Awards dinner at London's Hilton last week.
It was great to meet so many 'star performers' from councils around the country and congratulations to all those who won and were shortlisted.

- I started my media career on local newspapers having trained as an environmental scientist. I later specialised in local government issues and worked on a number of professional magazines, including New Start and highways and transportation title Surveyor, which I edited for four years.
