New lists in MYB
The team has been quite busy of later hence why I have been a bit quiet on this blog. Apologies.
I do have some news for our directory users, though.
MYB Online now has some 5,500 extra contacts in the form of lower tier officers, covering service areas such as building services, lifelong learning, HR, emergency planning and transportation.
These names can be found by viewing council entries and clicking on 'tier two officers' in the entry overview.
We will be providing this data in the form of set lists for purchase in our list rental section in due course.
This is just one of many more exciting changes that we will be making to the directory section soon... watch this space!

Change to news home page
We have made a small change to the news home page.
In order to increase the number of news stories on this page, while retaining its 'clean' design, we have paginated our news articles which gives users 60 of our most recent news stories.
If you look at the bottom of the story list on the news home, you will now see a small navigation tool.
i.e.
Click on 'NEXT' or one of numbers and the news stories change without taking you away from page (Todays Papers, Soap Box and Comment sections remaining the same).
This means you can browse the most recent news articles in one or two clicks.

New features on LocalGov.co.uk
The development team have been very busy of late moving LocalGov.co.uk onto a new server and adding one or two new features.
The server shift has resulted in one or two breaks in service and we appreciate your patience.
However, things have settled down now and site performance has improved markedly.
As far as new features are concerned, we have replaced the related articles function on every article page with ‘most commented’ and ‘most read’ articles. You can toggle between the two lists by clicking on the tabs. This gives you a flavour of what others are finding most interesting.
Secondly, we have released the public beta version of our new quick search.
This development is in direct response to user demand. Tap in your search term in the panel on the top right as normal, and the search returns are displayed with a number of filters on the right of the search return page.
Click on these and you can filter your search by date, sector, content type, source (i.e. The MJ, Surveyor magazine etc) and author.
At the moment, the search cover most of the site content, including the directory, and other sections such as jobs will be added in due course. The section-specific searches are still running as normal.
If you have any feedback, please drop us a line.
